I had a similar experience to your self Laura, but I am over it and she is having a hard time of it right now, what goes around comes around.

I have had a couple not so good experiences though, but that's only to be expected. As long as you tread carefully, keep your eyes wide open and keep yourself safe you have nothing to lose....and that person is out there somewhere, so keep you eyes out!!!!!

Yep. It was my 2nd attempt at my 1st year with the Open University. We started at the same time. Got chatting on the subject forum, then through our private mail boxes. I lost the use of my pc for nearly a month and was ill too so gave the course up. Got back online and let him know what was happening and he gave me his personal email address. We chatted constantly. We went from study buddies to friends, which gradually grew over a 5 month period into more. We finally met for a brief 5 mins in Asda during his lunch break lol
And the rest as they say, is history
